Live-Trips

Future Island

Jul 07, 2025 from 07:30 PM to 11:50 PM
Zürich, Palais X-tra
When the songs of Future Islands once seemed like invitations to scenes from someone else's life. Then the album “People Who Aren't There Anymore”, released in January 2024, presents the entire captivating saga - transforming pain into hope and marking a triumph in the band's career.

Here, excitement, devastation, understanding and the first rays of redemption converge in 44 minutes - an album that finally captures the full force of Future Islands on tape. Future Islands' song “Seasons (Waiting On You)” was released in 2014 and is the opening track from their fourth studio album Singles. The song received critical acclaim and was named best song of the year by several publications including Pitchfork, NME and Spin. It was also listed in the best of the 2010s lists, such as #34 on Pitchfork's “200 Best Songs of the 2010s” and #94 on Rolling Stone's “100 Best Songs of the 2010s.” A particularly notable live performance of the song took place on the Late Show with David Letterman on March 3, 2014. Frontman Samuel T. Herring impressed with his intense stage presence, which included expressive dance moves and powerful vocals. This performance went viral and contributed significantly to the band's popularity.

Coco Rosie

Jun 01, 2025 from 07:30 PM to 11:50 PM
Zürich, Kaufleuten
The enchanting Coco Rosie present their new album. For over twenty years, Bianca and Sierra Casady have been pioneers in experimental pop music.
They have influenced countless musicians and at the same time created a haven for creative outsiders. CocoRosie are a phenomenon that don't care about trends and immerse themselves in their own sound spheres, completely unimpressed by the outside world. Their music combines operatic excursions, pop-affine and wonderfully melodious pieces that are delicately fragile and eerily beautiful thanks to Sierra's operatic voice. On their eighth album, CocoRosie tell a multi-layered story about the challenges of women, the shattered realities of their lives, the precarious and precious nature of being human and the ultimate desire to remain unbroken. With their latest album, they have managed to do something that few can: To remain absolutely unmistakable. Unique and eerily beautiful.

L'Impératrice

Dec 12, 2024 from 08:00 PM to 11:50 PM
Palais Xtra, Zürich
L'Impératrice is back with the single “Me Da Igual”, which was released on March 7, 2024.

With this single, we can feel the intensity of the clubs and sleepless nights, the strobes and disco balls that are forever imprinted in our bodies and minds. The shimmer of the French touch that lit up the world of pop and electro with virtuosity and elegance and made L'Impératrice dance in her youth. It is this glow that today carries the sound of L'Impératrice like a momentum of its own. A sweet thing. Perhaps too sweet for some.

THE KVB & Support

Dec 10, 2024 from 07:50 PM to 11:50 PM
Zürich, Bogen F
Sure, Nicholas Wood and Kat Day from The KVB are annoyed to be constantly compared to The Jesus and Mary Chain and Cabaret Voltaire.

But with their shimmering reverb guitars, the blurred vocals and the thin skeleton of the rhythm machine, they do little to hide their love for the first hour shoegazers. The KVB have released several albums on the label of Anton Newcombs, the singer of Brian Jonestown Massacre, another shadowy figure in rock music. The fact that Geoff Barrow from Portishead was kind enough to lend them some of his synthesizers and Sonic Boom from Spacemen 3 did the mastering are just a few more chocolates for indie rock fans who also read the small print. None of this should deter anyone from giving The KVB an unbiased listen. Last year, they released the album “Artefacts” - a fitting title, as this is what the Berliners-by-choice can do without batting an eyelid: create something new from found objects from rock history
